Often breaking into spontaneous dance, Zahirah feels blessed to share
her passion with such a wonderful and diverse group of women. Having
studied jazz and modern dance growing up in small town Saskatchewan,
Zahira found Bellydance in 2002 and fell in love with the rich history
and celebration of the female form and power. She enjoys collaborating
with other dancers and musicians, as well as sharing the art with her
doula clients and a group of seniors who meet for a weekly class.
Zahira's love of dance extends to the contemporary realm as well; she's part of a Regina company called FADA Dance, a common attraction at summer music and art festivals. When's she's not dancing, Zahira can be found teaching yoga and working to deadline as a freelance journalist.
